A balanced diet is one of the most important needs in a child’s life. It is essential for their physical, emotional, cognitive and social development. Children experiencing different tastes and textures of food helps to expand their minds to be more open to the world.

At our center, we provide home cooked meals. All the meals are cooked on site from scratch. We include different dishes in our menus to bring variety and taste of different cultures.

The major food groups which are grains, meat/egg/dairy products, fruits and vegetables are covered daily in the menu. Rice, variety of lentils, and breads such as Naan, pita bread, and Afghan bread are served several times during a month.

  • Lentils are either made as soup or mixed as a casserole dish with rice and butter with basic spices like garlic, pepper and ginger.
  • Roti is served as a wrap with either egg omelet, chicken or ground beef.
  • Rice is served as a pilaf with vegetables and meat.
  • Afghan bread or Naan bread is given with meat curry or stew.
